The Status of the Ubuntu Romanian Localization Team
Posted by Adi | Filed under English, Free Software, Planet Ubuntu
This is the first post from a series of status updates for the localization activity of the Ubuntu Romanian Localization team.
Right now Ubuntu is translated into Romanian in 27.5 %, with almost all GNOME and configuration utilities translated, including the live cd menu, installation programme and Ubuntu guides.
Most of the work is done in Launchapd and only two major packages are translated in Narro.
Right now I’m working with Mișu Moldovan, the Romanian GNOME translation coordinator, in order to make all work from Launchpad available upstream. Simultaneousily there takes place a long process of reviewing all translations, converting all sedila below characters to comma below characters and increasing the translation quality.
The Ubuntu Intrepid translations are availble in Launchpad from this day forward. For the future we plan to update all GNOME packages and have a 100% translation for GNOME GUI. Furthermore we are going to continue the review and start working at translating Ubuntu Desktop Course.
