Now that Karmic is released…

This is just a short update for my latest activities:

Ubuntu 9.10 Romanian Remix, the Ubuntu Live CD that comes with full support for Romanian language, was release on time. This is a showcase of Romanian localization of free software and we are looking forward for strengthening the team and to attract more contributors,  as the team is getting very thin.

I’m missing epiphany-gecko and with epiphany-webkit is no longer fun to surf the web. I need an epiphany-gecko PPA! Pidgin is still up and running.

It’s party time. I will join the Targu Mures LUG to celebrate Ubuntu 9.10 release and just before leaving to UDS I will try to meet and also celebrate Ubuntu with free software supporters from Bucharest.

I got my first digital audio player. A second hand Sansa E250 with the first firmware revision. Rockbox is awesome and using it is pure fun.  I’ve got the power!

The Ubuntu Translation project is getting shape and I’m looking forward to the UDS sessions.

The Romanian import was finalize and now Ubuntu Desktop Course is available for finalizing the translations using Launchpad Translations.

The Romanian presidential elections are near. Unfortunately none of the candidates are good enough to lead Romania.  Remus Cernea is gaining some sympathy, but he is not even close to what Romania needs. Also he has no chances, but I’m hoping he will increase his popularity and create a strong group of person willing to improve Romania.

Good work on Ubuntu Translations, Adi! As usual, you did a fantastic job.

I’m also looking forward to UDS :)
